What could possibly be better then shooting a destination engagement session in San Francisco? Two engagement sessions of course! That’s right, in my whirlwind trip to San Francisco, I was lucky enough to shoot two engagement sessions in one day (in case you missed the first one click here). Angel and Eugene met in the fabulous city of Chicago during graduate school. However, the majority of their relationship has been long distance, and it wasn’t until they both moved to San Francisco were they able to settle down together. Since the city resembles such a milestone in their relationship, we decided to capture some moments at the signature landmark, the Golden Gate Bridge. As you’ll see, Angel and Eugene are quite the character, and I was able to tell a story with them just being themselves! We were then able to swing by the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts for some romantic and fun shots. After the engagement session with Terry and Socheat, I came back to visit Angel and Eugene for some rooftop shots on a private residence! San Francisco definitely has a stunning skyline with a lot of variety, and you can clearly see the Bay Bridge in the background of the first night shot. Some of you might have noticed that there is no “bling” in these shots, and I was just as surprised during the shoot. I can assure you they are engaged though and I’m so sad that I’m not available to shoot their destination wedding in Los Cabos, Mexico!

It’s always an honor when other photographers ask you to photograph their family member’s wedding! Terry is Dallas wedding photographer Chantal Brown‘s little sister. I felt even more privileged because the wedding will not be in Dallas, but will be in Modesto, CA which is just outside of San Francisco! Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session in the Japanese tea garden in the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, CA. I think you’ll have to agree that the landscaping is just stunning there! Of course I knew we had to grab some night shots of the gorgeous San Francisco skyline, and what better place then to shoot at the Twin Peaks which has an elevation of 922 feet! Aren’t they so cute together? I can’t wait to be back in San Francisco later this year!

Norris Pavilion Wedding | Mae+Brent | Los Angeles destination wedding photographer
I couldn’t have imagined a better way to kick off the new year 2013 with this fabulous Los Angeles destination wedding featuring Mae and Brent!
Mae and I used to play soccer together when we were both still at UT Southwestern, and yes, she was really good with exceptional ball control! Mae and Brent met through mutual friends while watching a Los Angeles Lakers game, and everything sparked from there. During Mae’s rotation away in Hawaii, Brent flew down from Los Angeles and surprised Mae with a romantic proposal on the Hawaii beach. Quite a perfect location to propose!
If you haven’t figured it out yet, Mae’s pretty into sports, and being a Dallas native she just had to have some Dallas Cowboy’s attire including the garter and bridesmaids’ dresses! Loved how we had the luxury of taking beautiful portraits at the Torrance Marriott South Bay and around the breathtaking Rolling Hills Estates. Even though it was raining before and more than half the ceremony, I’m so glad that we were still able to go through with the outdoor ceremony and loved how it turned out! Thank you again Mae and Brent for having me to capture your wedding day, and looking forward to all the beautiful weddings in 2013! Happy New Year!

Ashley+ Chris engagement session |Dallas wedding photographer
Ashley and Chris are the perfect example of what true love means. Despite the fact that Ashley is from OU while Chris is from Texas, they’re still so perfect for each other! I’m definitely sure this is going to be a fun wedding on Memorial day next year! Both of them love wine, therefore we couldn’t have picked a better place and perfect day to shoot their engagement session at the Wales Manor Winery in McKinney, TX. Besides being able to have wine during the session, they also brought their beautiful Australian Shepherd out to the shoot, which made for some great family portraits! Afterwards, we headed to downtown McKinney for some urban looks, and it wouldn’t be a full session without some night shots. As you’ll see towards the end, I’m a pretty easy going photographer during my sessions, Chris even got to check NFL updates on his phone (although I strongly advise against this)!

Alejandra+ Aaron | 12.12.12 Irving Justice of the Peace Wedding | Dallas wedding photographer
My second 12.12.12 couple was Alejandra and Aaron. This time I settled down a bit more and tried to build a little more trust with them, which is definitely a key factor when photographing people. Aaron’s an Irving guy while Alejandra is from the awesome country of Argentina (for the soccer fans out there, I love Lionel Messi!!). Thanks to Judge Hubener again, we found out that they met through dancing, and gotta love that Judge Hubener made them show us some moves and dance before the wedding!!
Since we had a little extra time, we took some romantic portraits right outside of the Justice of the Peace court. Such a gorgeous couple, and love the shoe combination!
Congrats Alejandra and Aaron, can’t wait to see your Argentina wedding, I’m sure it’s going to be epic!!

Glinda+Mike 12.12.12 Justice of the Peace Wedding | Dallas wedding photographer
Today is a special day…12.12.12! A fellow photographer friend made the suggestion of heading out to a Justice of the Peace court and photograph some weddings of complete strangers. It was definitely out of my comfort zone, thus making it an interesting challenge. I decided to visit the Irving Justice of the Peace since that was the closest one to me. I was really nervous strolling around with all my camera gear, not knowing where to go, who was actually getting married and hoping the cops there didn’t think I had a bomb in my luggage bag (too many action movies for me!). Ironically, the couple with the best time slot at 12pm cancelled (the 2 couples I’ll be blogging about wanted that slot!). I saw 2 more couples prior to Glinda and Mike, but I was a little too anxious to make the move so I decided to go get a Starbucks, regroup and come back later!
After some mind soothing latte, I found the courage to ask Glinda and Mike to photograph their wedding, and luckily they agreed!! Glinda and Mike have been together for 11 years and it’s great that they are getting married on this special day. Judge Hubener loves to ask where the couple met; Mike responded that they met at a bar. You’ll be surprised that judge Hubener said that’s actually a rare answer!
So here’s a few favorites from their sweet intimate wedding, loved how Glinda said “I’m marrying a great man.”

Diana+Punag engagement session | Dallas wedding photographer
Diana and Punag met at our wonderful school UT Southwestern (yay!!). This super fun and stylish couple is getting married in Houston but still wanted engagement photos captured in Dallas since that’s where all the memories happened! We decided to take a stroll around the Deep Ellum area during a gorgeous afternoon and see what kind of magic we could create. Of course our session wouldn’t be complete without some amazing night shots highlighting the Dallas skylines. Catherine+Tres Nasher sculpture center garden wedding rehearsal dinner | Dallas wedding photographer
Catherine and Tres was a pretty special couple because I wasn’t able to shoot their wedding but they still wanted to have me for their rehearsal dinner. Normally I would be hesitant about this, but who could say no to such a lovely couple and gorgeous venue at the Nasher Sculpture Center? Love how the floral centerpieces resonates with the sculptures at the Nasher designed by Dr. Delphinium! After a relaxing cocktail hour in the Nasher gardens, the party moved inside for some mouthwatering Wolfgang Puck catering and some heart touching toasts. The contrast between the joy of Tres and tears of Catherine was definitely my favorite moment of the night. After the amazing rehearsal dinner, we wrapped up the night with some epic night shots in the garden, enjoy!!

Brooke+Jason | Clearwater Beach wedding photographer | Destination wedding photographer
Needless to say, I was super excited when Brooke and Jason contacted me for their destination wedding in Clearwater Beach, FL!! Brooke, Jason and majority of the guests are all from the state of Wisconsin, so it was awesome that they all decided to fly down to Florida for their wedding! You could definitely tell how deeply in love they are with one another through all the emotions prior to and during the ceremony. The shell ceremony towards the sea was a first for me, and even though I was soaking wet and hit by multiple shells (you know who you are!!), I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again! After the breathtaking beach ceremony, we all hopped on the Clearwater jolley trolley and headed to the Starlight cruise ship for the reception. Loved all the starfish details, and I even had my own to keep, shout out to Nancy for doing an amazing job! I’m so happy for you guys and you have such a beautiful family!
