Glinda+Mike 12.12.12 Justice of the Peace Wedding | Dallas wedding photographer
Today is a special day…12.12.12! A fellow photographer friend made the suggestion of heading out to a Justice of the Peace court and photograph some weddings of complete strangers. It was definitely out of my comfort zone, thus making it an interesting challenge. I decided to visit the Irving Justice of the Peace since that was the closest one to me. I was really nervous strolling around with all my camera gear, not knowing where to go, who was actually getting married and hoping the cops there didn’t think I had a bomb in my luggage bag (too many action movies for me!). Ironically, the couple with the best time slot at 12pm cancelled (the 2 couples I’ll be blogging about wanted that slot!). I saw 2 more couples prior to Glinda and Mike, but I was a little too anxious to make the move so I decided to go get a Starbucks, regroup and come back later!
After some mind soothing latte, I found the courage to ask Glinda and Mike to photograph their wedding, and luckily they agreed!! Glinda and Mike have been together for 11 years and it’s great that they are getting married on this special day. Judge Hubener loves to ask where the couple met; Mike responded that they met at a bar. You’ll be surprised that judge Hubener said that’s actually a rare answer!
