Rose Chapel Wedding | Fort Worth Wedding Photographer | May+Jerod
The first time I met May and Jerod I just knew we were going to have a blast at their wedding! They’re just fun, bubbly and goofy whenever I’m around them! How fun and goofy you say? You can totally tell from their awesome night engagement session just in case you missed it. Their beautiful wedding ceremony was held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Worth, TX. We took romantic portraits and had an amazing reception at the historic Rose Chapel where the ballroom was built in 1922! May looked absolutely stunning in her Vera Wang dress and Jerod had such a great smile in every single photo. Her color of choice was coral and it turned out beautiful with the coral wedding shoes, coral floral in the bridal bouquet and shades of coral for different bridesmaid dresses! I just really adore pastel colors! Besides all the prettiness of the wedding, May and Jerod actually requested on the shot list to have a photo with me, which was definitely a first for me! So here I’m shamelessly posting the portrait we got together right before their touching last dance. I’m so happy that I got to be a part of their day and made some great new friends along the way. Enjoy the photos!

Nasher Sculpture Center Bridals | Dallas Wedding Photographer | Ashley
I’m so excited that we can finally share Ashley’s gorgeous bridals at the Nasher Sculpture Center! The Nasher Sculpture Center is such a perfect venue for bridal portraits. It has a clean and modern indoor space, while also having an amazing outdoor garden area with tons of greenery, sculptures, and natural light pouring in. Yellow was Ashley’s accent color having yellow shoes and yellow ranunculus in her bridal bouquet. Pairing it with turquoise earrings and her lace wedding dress, we definitely created some magic!
La Cima Club Wedding | Dallas Wedding Photographer | Melanie+Michael
The first time I sat down with Melanie and Michael I just knew we were going to click based on their thought process of meeting me! Michael was actually the one in charge of the search for a wedding photographer since he’s the visual and detail oriented half. They narrowed it down to three of their favorite wedding photographers, and quoting Michael’s exact words to Melanie, ” They all have nice work, but Allen has a Ph.D.!!” Never did I think my Ph.D. would factor into a couple’s decision in choosing me as their wedding photographer, but I’m so excited it did, because we’ve became really great friends and that’s always a good recipe for amazing photos!
Melanie and Michael both went to the University of Dallas, so it made perfect sense to have their Catholic wedding at the Church of the Incarnation on the UD campus. Interestingly though, they did not meet in Dallas but all the way in Rome, Italy! Maybe it would be nice to shoot some portraits there in the future (hint!). They had a lot of beautiful details and moments throughout their wedding day. The invitations and programs were designed by Michael’s sister, who is a super talented and creative artist! Debby from Branching Out Floral and Event Design did an amazing job with the floral and centerpieces for the reception at La Cima Club, which has an amazing skyline view of Dallas/ Ft. Worth and is located right on top of Williams Square in Las Colinas. Williams Square definitely made for some nice portraits with the mustang sculptures in the background! Hope you enjoy the images and their celebration of love!
Loved the sweet first touch and how it calmed the nerves.
Hindu table numbers added a nice twist to the details!
A gorgeous wedding prayer printed out for every guest to keep.
Doesn’t Melanie look stunning in her saree? Melanie’s cousin Carla who is also from Kansas was hilarious and such a blast to be around with. The chicken song her family performed was definitely the highlight of the night! Look how prepared they were with her mom rocking the ukulele!

Las Colinas Engagement Session | Melanie+Michael | Dallas wedding photographer
I truly adore Melanie and Michael. Why? Well, not only did they introduce me to the best Thai food around our neighborhood, the fact I have a Ph.D. in neuroscience was one of the main reasons they chose me to photograph their wedding is pure awesome!! It’s especially hilarious when Melanie tells the story and process of choosing their wedding photographer. I’ve concluded that folks from Kansas have a great sense of humor and are just great at telling stories and jokes in general. You will see what I mean soon in their wedding blog post! Here’s a little prettiness from their beautiful Las Colinas engagement session on a gorgeous afternoon!
Fort Worth Skyline Engagement Session | May+Jerod | Dallas/ Fort Worth Wedding Photographer
May and Jerod are just an awesome and fun couple to be around with! In fact, they’re so awesome they even invited me to their co-shower! When I learned the private residence hosting their shower overlooks the Fort Worth skyline, we decided that’s where we’re going to take some killer and different engagement photos! I just love how much character they show in their photos! Be on the lookout for their wedding blog post soon because it’s just around the corner!
New Orleans, Louisiana Destination Engagement Session | Min+Andrew | Dallas Wedding Photographer
Min and Andrew found me through the talented and fabulous Keestone Events! New Orleans was the first city they really had a chance to spend quality time together after they started dating, so I suggested it made perfect sense to have their engagement session in NOLA. Of course, I was beyond excited when they actually accepted my proposal and invited me to New Orleans! I’ve heard lots of great things about NOLA but never had the chance to visit. Due to airline and major highway traffic delays, it was nearly sunset when we arrived at the gorgeous New Orleans City Park, but we still managed to capture some nice portraits. We went to Cochon in the warehouse district for dinner and it was packed even on a Monday night. It was definitely well worth the 30 minute wait, so check it out if you’re ever in town! Min and Andrew were generous enough to let me crash at their shotgun house for the night. Shotgun houses are definitely a New Orleans thing, so we had to get some nice shots with their house rise and shine! Since we were already wide awake, we also ventured to the famous French Quarter for some more awesomeness. We ended the trip with the best gelato I’ve ever had at Angelo Brocato. The blood orange flavor is to die for! I also had enough time to sneak in a trip to the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA), which is always refreshing being an artist! Can’t wait for Min and Andrew’s December wedding in Dallas!
Inn on Lake Granbury Wedding | Priscilla+Shallon | Dallas Wedding Photographer
Priscilla and Shallon had a small and intimate wedding at the beautiful Inn on Lake Granbury. It was just the two of them and their children, simple and sweet. The outdoor wedding ceremony overlooked the gorgeous Lake Granbury. We had no specific timeline to follow after the wedding ceremony which gave us the freedom to capture tons of romantic portraits. I hope you enjoy this pure celebration of love as much as I did!

The Grand Hotel and Ballroom Wedding | Caitlyn+Dustin| Dallas Wedding Photographer
Caitlyn and Dustin booked me for their wedding in record time… two and a half weeks away from their wedding date! I can’t find the words to describe how excited I was when they decided to have me at their wedding (instead of the original plan) and you’ll soon see why. Beautiful and amazing floral and details; colors of black, jade and a hint of tangelo; and of course…a gorgeous couple! The wedding was at the historic Grand Hotel and Ballroom which is right in the heart of downtown McKinney, TX. Even though it was pouring rain the entire day, we still got a little window of time to capture some stunning romantic portraits on the streets of downtown McKinney and we got to party late into the night!

Nasher Sculpture Center Engagement Session | Athena+Chase | Dallas Wedding Photographer
Athena and Chase are the kind of couple that every photographer loves and dreams about. They have been in love with my photography for over a year, and they had no doubt they wanted me to photograph their wedding. The only question was when and where, and I’m super excited to announce that they are taking me to Riviera Maya, Mexico for their wedding! When selecting engagement session locations, I mentioned that the Nasher Sculpture Center had a nice modern feel to it with a beautiful garden even in the winter, and they totally jumped on to it! We also ventured around the Dallas arts district and Winspear opera house for some fun shots! Being the huge dog lover I am, we had to get some shots with their lovely rat terrier as well. We ended the night with some of my signature Dallas skyline portraits. Congratulations Athena and Chase, I can’t wait for your wedding and I am sure we are going to create some magic in Mexico!
