Elena+Dima | Fort Worth Botanical Gardens Intimate Wedding | Fort Worth Wedding Photographer
I just love small intimate weddings! It was a perfect day at the Fort Worth botanical gardens for Elena and Dima’s wedding. I was also super excited because this was my first Russian and Ukrainian wedding, so there were definitely some different details to capture!
Loved the sweet interactions and moments during the rose exchange ceremony.
Rice throwing during the recessional is to bring prosperity to the couple.
Elena and Dima wanted lots of romantic portraits, so here we go!!
This letter was left in the Perennial Gardens for the “lucky one”. I’m still curious to know what’s in it!! That’s how you write newlyweds in Russian!

I knew we would click immediately after meeting Amy and Jason for the first time at Fat Straws for some bubble tea! It was a cloudy and windy day at the Bowman springs park in Arlington, but that didn’t stop us from getting gorgeous photos from their engagement session! Jason has got to be among the most athletic grooms I’ve ever had, not only wanting a walking upside down photo, but also climbing up on trees. We ended the session with some romantic night shots with the Fort Worth skyline in the background, which I think we must have hiked a mile to get to!!
Lidia and Jason had a beautiful intimate backyard wedding at their parent’s home in Plano, Texas. I couldn’t have asked for more beautiful light and perfect weather! It also felt great that they asked me how and where I would like to arrange the ceremony site in the backyard for the best light and angles. This just tells me how much they really do care and I had to rock it out!!
After taking some gorgeous romantic portraits, we all headed over to the reception site at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney, Texas. After finding out Jason had this huge arcade, I knew I had to get a shot of him playing! And of course, who doesn’t enjoy a little ping-pong after the wedding! Congrats Lidia and Jason!!
Lacy and Luis had a beautiful purple farm wedding in Waxahachie, Texas. I was so excited to work with the super talented Wendy from Birds of a Feather Wedding Events! What made it even more amazing was she planned the whole wedding in 6 days! Lacy was due in less than 2 weeks and Wendy decided to make it work!
I am happy to share that Lacy and Luis now have a cute and healthy son Daniel! Their wedding was also featured on the wedding blog The Sweetest Occasion, so go show them some love! Also a special thanks to Erin Vande Zande for coming out to assist.

Lidia and Jason wanted something really natural so we decided to take a stroll around the gorgeous White Rock Lake in Dallas. They were so deeply in love and relaxed in front of the camera, it was almost as if I wasn’t present. In fact, they have an awesome “keep’n it real” shot which I would love to share, but probably wouldn’t be appropriate for the public!
The session ended capturing them with the Dallas skyline and we were lucky to have a super rad purple sky! We literally grabbed this shot while the thunderstorm came rolling in, just a few seconds away from getting soaked. Can’t wait for your beautiful backyard wedding!
Thanh Thanh Wedding | Kelly+Tri | Dallas Wedding Photographer
I always love photographing cultural weddings with lots of colors and details, so needless to say I had tons of fun shooting Kelly and Tri’s wedding! What made it even more exciting was Kelly has got into photography herself and Tri got his Ph.D., two things I can both deeply relate to!
The morning started off early with a traditional Vietnamese wedding; Tri came to meet his bride at her residence with all the gifts including fine wine and the essential roasted pig. Following was the tea ceremony at Tri’s residence and a delicious lunch prepared by Tri’s grandmother. Seriously, one of the best soups I’ve ever had before!
Kelly got into her bridal dress for the reception at the Thanh Thanh Vietnamese restaurant and the party was on!!
Love it when couples surprise us with a crazy first dance!
Kelsey, Adam and I met through one of my best friends who happens to be from New Zealand (small world!). Their wedding ceremony and reception was at The Palace Arts Center in Grapevine, Texas, and I loved the overall vintage feel and how their big day was announced just like a movie! The rusty styled brick and copper walls made fantastic textures and were perfect for bridal party portraits. Kelsey’s dad gave some great pieces of advice before handing her over to Adam, and their father/daughter dance was definitely among the most touching ones I’ve ever photographed…
